In short
The website and the app use the cookies they need to work. They also record where people click and how far they scroll, with Valigard’s own tool, so we can make the website’s pages and the app’s screens better: in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the UK and Canada only if you agree, and elsewhere unless you refuse. One choice covers both. None of it is shared or used for advertising.
Always on: what the site needs
These don’t need your agreement: without them you couldn’t sign in, and the site couldn’t remember your choices.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
valigard_session | Valigard | Keeps you signed in to your workspace. | 14 days, or until you sign out |
valigard_oauth | Valigard | Checks that a sign-in with Google or Apple comes back to the sign-in you started. | 10 minutes |
vg_consent | Valigard | Remembers your cookie choice, so you aren’t asked on every page. | 6 months |
The language you choose, and a few display settings in the app (a panel you closed, the product you last opened), are kept in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie, until you clear them. They are never sent to us.
When you pay, Stripe or PayPal set their own cookies on their payment pages; when you sign in with Google or Apple, those companies set theirs on their own pages. Their policies apply there.
Visits we count, without cookies
Our server counts the pages it sends, to know how many people visit and which pages they read. It notes the page, the site that linked to it, your country, the kind of device, the browser and its language. To count each visitor once a day without keeping anything in your browser, it combines your IP address and browser with a random value that changes every day and is then deleted: we can’t recognise you from one day to the next, and your address itself isn’t kept. Nothing is shared or used for advertising, the counts are kept 13 months, and nothing is counted while you’re signed in.
Analytics: our own heatmaps
Valigard’s own tool records, for each page of the website and each screen of the app you see, where you click (the link, button or part of the page, never what you type), how far down you scroll and how long you spend on it. In the app it notes which kind of screen and which control, never the names, figures or other details the screen shows, and never who you are, your workspace or your address. In the EU, the EEA, Switzerland, the UK and Canada, and wherever we can’t tell where you are, it runs only after you agree. Elsewhere, where the law allows, it runs unless you refuse: choose Reject all in the banner, or turn it off in Cookie settings (in the app, under Settings), and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as a refusal. Your choice covers the website and the app in this browser. It sets no cookie and never runs on shared lists. The data stays with Valigard, on its own servers in the EU, is never shared or used for advertising, and is deleted after 13 months.
Your choices
- Choose, or change your mind, at any time with Cookie settings, here or at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing your agreement is as easy as giving it, and takes effect at once.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we take it as a refusal of optional cookies, and Cookie settings shows that it was honored.
- Your choice is kept for 6 months, then we ask again. We also ask again if we change the tools we use or what they record.
- You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s settings.
Our record of your choice
To be able to show that you agreed, we keep a record of each choice: when it was made, what you chose, the version of the banner you answered, its language, the page and the country your connection came from. It is filed under a random id kept in your vg_consent cookie, not under your name or address.
